Sebastian Vettel emerged from a thrilling qualifying session on Saturday night with his and his Red Bull Racing team’s first pole position at the Marina Bay Street Circuit – and the team’s 100% pole-winning record in 2011 intact.
The 24-year-old German’s 11th pole of the season, and the 26th of his Formula One career, gives him an ideal launching-pad for the race that may make him World Champion for the second time.
“All in all, it was a perfect session, especially round here. It’s a fun track and a big challenge. It’s difficult with so many corners and it’s a long lap to get everything together, but we kept our heads cool and did it today. Pole here means a lot to me.”
said Vettel after winning Singapore GP 2011.
Below are the beautiful photo collections of the race..
2011 saw the introduction of the first Formula 1 night race, and Philips Lighting got the chance to illuminate the event. To race in Singapore, the company provided nearly 1,500 lighting projectors, a brand new concept, specially designed and manufactured to reduce glare and a super bright. They turned 5 kilometers around the track and pitlane.
