KUALA LUMPUR, 12 OCTOBER, 2011: Proton Holdings Bhd has denied recent rumours that it may be looking to sell a stake in loss-making subsidiary Group Lotus to Luxembourg-based Genii Capital, saying the claims are untrue and highly speculative.

"Proton's relationship with Group Lotus is as good as it has ever been. Through this positive synergy, our priority now is to ensure that the Lotus Business Turnaround Plan is executed according to schedule and that both parties are committed to its success,"
Proton said in a statement today. Proton said it and Lotus have reached a juncture whereby the market is eagerly waiting for Lotus' new products
"and all our energy and efforts have to be channeled towards achieving this critical goal."
It added that Lotus' involvement in F1 as title sponsor to the Lotus-Renault GP team is to create dynamic marketing and branding synergies.

Mohd Hanis, a 25 year old pharmacist residing in Kuantan, won The Transporter contest organised by PROTON recently. He accompanied Malaysian celebrities Jojo Struys, Diana Danielle and Yasmin Hani to the Singapore Grand Prix 2011 in an all expense paid trip courtesy of PROTON, of which his trip included a once in a lifetime experience where he gained exclusive access to the Paddock Club and tour the Lotus Renault Grand Prix team garage as well as other fun events! It was an experience for him indeed. CONGRATULATIONS Hanis!

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, youngest double world champion roared into the record books on Sunday after finishing third. 1st podium stage won by McLaren's driver,  Jenson Button. Vettel, a 24-year-old German, who had started from pole position for the 12th time this season, had needed only a point at Suzuka to protect his second successive crown with four races to spare for 2011 season.
"Thank you so much, every single one,"
said Vettel, his voice trembling with emotion as he choked back the tears behind his visor, over the team radio after being told he is already 2011 world champion. "We took nothing for granted and we did it." said the team spokesman furthermore.
Sebastian Vettel, congratulated by both Jenson Button and previous young season winner of 2006.
"To win the championship here is fantastic. So many things you want to say in this moment but it's hard to remember all of them," he added. "There are so many people, it's hard to name them all to thank them." A safety car incident triggered by another coming together between McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's Felipe Massa, as well as a contact between Red Bull's Mark Webber and Mercedes' Michael Schumacher, bunched up the field for three laps while marshals retrieved debris. Button kept his lead and took the chequered flag for what he considers a second home race, thanks to his Japanese girlfriend and long-standing passion for the country, just 1.1 seconds over Alonso.
"It was a great race, the start was very good -- maybe too good and I ended up on the grass,"
grinned Button, ecstatic at his third win of the season and 12th of his career.
"It's always a very special place to race, Suzuka. This is one of the most perfect places to race and the crowd are very special. It's one of our most special victories, it means a lot to me,"
added the Briton, who had written off his own title chances long ago.

Button and Alonso both overtook Hamilton’s McLaren before he could reach the pits for new rubber on lap eight. After exiting the pitlane, Hamilton was running fourth – with Massa now on his tail. The pair later collided and the safety car was deployed to allow debris to be cleared from the track at Turn 7.

After the safety car period, Hamilton complained: “I’ve got massive understeer. My wing must be busted.” However, he was told by the pitwall: “We’ve looked at the data and the pictures and everything looks okay.” Now down in sixth place, Hamilton chased down Massa and eventually made a clean pass on the Ferrari driver. He eventually crossed the line fifth and will be looking for a better performance next Sunday in the 2011 Korean Grand Prix.
As for our own Malaysian backed-up teams, both are not doing well enough this time. Lotus-Renault ended at position 9th and 16th, while TeamLotus ended up at 18th and 19th position.

It was an exciting weekend for Lotus & Proton because Heidfield end-up at 8th position despite Petrov crashed. The team still managed to get points for this race. The crash occurred when Petrov already at 4th position, lap 68. He is reportedly has no broken injury.
Defending drivers' world champion, Sebastian Vettelclaimed his first victory at Monaco, while Fernando Alonso from Ferrari team finished second. Monaco GP was filled with incident and dramatic race.

Below is the video of the incident between Redbull team and LRGP.
It raised a question which is, "should the safety regulation need to be strengthen to prevent more crash to happen?" Current technology in F1 has allowed manufacturers to built faster, better R&H and so on, but the limitation of human capability inside Monaco track affected the race.
